So, rainy-then-muddy days and Thanksgiving have made my
bootcamp attempt follow not consecutive days. That’s okay. I’ll get 7 messy
days in before the end of the month.
Today was an impromptu messy bootcamp
experience. As mentioned in the previous post, Kaylee had been having a few
days of “bottle-stike” and I was getting worried about her fluid intake. So I
pulled out a sippy cup and found the valve for it so it wouldn’t be a mess… but
Kaylee wasn’t interested in it with the valve in place. It reminded me of why bottle feeding became
necessary in the first place – she was too impatient trying to get anything
when she was nursing! So I reluctantly took out the valve and that’s when the
mess began. She’s so independent now with feeding-related things that she Did
Not want me helping her drink from the sippy cup. AAAAAANNNND commence formula
spilling everywhere! She didn’t even get any of it anyway. I’m counting it as
bootcamp material because it got my blood pressure up.
It was then that I gave her Orajel all over her mouth that I
discovered the new back tooth coming in. There has been a lot of wasted formula
the past few days. I wish I’d found the new tooth sooner, not only so I could
have solved the bottle problem sooner (by facing the bottle nipple away from
the ouchy area!), but so she could have had pain relief sooner!
Conclusion: Just another case of When Kaylee’s Not Being
As Good As She Usually Is, There’s A Reason!!! And don’t cry (or get stressed out!) over spilt
formula.
