It's not officially Halloween anymore, but I'm still uploading the pics I took today! I meant to make Kaylee an owl costume, and I bought the stuff for it and roughly planned it out but I never found the time to make it. I got her a Halloween themed sleeper the day I brought her home from the hospital though, so she wore that all day! She spent her day napping, eating, and posing for pictures! She was very patient with me, as I was learning to use my DSLR camera at the same time...
Later in the afternoon, I carved my pumpkin. An owl. Anyone surprised?! :P
Then I took these pictures in the evening. These are the ones that took me forever, because I couldn't figure out the lighting! Note to self for the future: if you want to take pictures of Kaylee in a specific setting, set it up in advance and try taking pictures in advance! Kaylee's a very patient girl, but a baby only has so much patience!
Well, that's that! Now on to thinking about Christmas! :)
Yah I'm sad Ilia missed out on Halloween, but she'll still have her first Christmas this year! I can't wait to decorate and all that jazz.
ReplyDeleteKaylee is definitely a keeper, too cute. She does seem a bit concerned by the whole Halloween deal though haha.
She's adorable!!!! Great outfit! How did you make the moon on your pumpkin to look like that?
ReplyDeleteAmber- Ilia will be able to sit up by the time her first Halloween comes around so you'll be able to take cute pictures without most of the fuss I had to go through! :) I hope Ilia comes soon!
ReplyDeleteJade- None of the carving on my pumpkin is actually cut totally through the flesh, so the moon is just chipped out of the side (with a butterknife). I couldn't make it totally uniform, so it just ended up like that! When I tested it, I saw the effect and chipped out deeper around the owl so it would look brighter. It just shows up like that with the light (which is an LED flashlight by the way... I found that no holes right through the pumpkin = no O2 for the candle to continue burning!) I got the picture from a template at the Martha Stewart website, I saw it in the Halloween magazine :)
