Instead of posting everything on Facebook, which not everyone has, I've decided to post updates about Kaylee on a blog. She hasn't arrived into the world yet, but she could come out at any time!
Here are Kaylee pictures from in the womb...

Today I had my 37 week prenatal appointment, and the doctor said the baby is doing fine. :) He’s predicting the baby will be around 9 lbs when she’s born! And, he said that although she’s in a head-down position, she’s facing the wrong direction and the doctor thinks I’ll be going through a ‘back labour’. Kaylee should be facing toward my back, but instead she’s facing toward my front; this will apparently make labour more painful and increase the chance that she’ll get stuck in my pelvis and will need a Caesarean anyway. Luckily, just before he told me this stuff, I had been asking about epidurals and I feel comfortable with getting one!
I almost have my hospital bags ready to go, and I need to play with the carseat to make sure I'm capable of putting it in the vehicle correctly! I'm planning on going to SGI to make sure I've installed it right, and my goal is to do this by the end of the week.

facing forward - she's just as difficult as Baby G! She's decided that she doesn't want to face anywhere except to the side, which is oh so pleasant for mom...
ReplyDeleteYay for big babies! My doctor went through the results of my ultrasound at 38 weeks yesterday, and the intern (moron!) turned to Michael and said "well, dad's big - baby's gonna be big!"... I thought he was going to throw him out of the room. Our sizes really mean nothing -it just means that you and I cook really good babies :)
We have a blog too, but I'm not finished setting it up yet. I'll forward the address to you when its done.

Kristin, I've been told that spending some time in a hands-and-knees like position may help bring the baby away from the pelvis and allow her to turn the right way. Hasn't worked for me yet, but I haven't given it a really good try yet either. :S
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely intern... not! I can't say I really liked my interns at MomCare either. The doctors were great, but my doctor here cancelled my second BMI ultrasound because he could feel the baby just fine - so it was the intern's lack of experience that triggered the 'need' for the ultrasound. And one of the other interns earlier was the one who told me 'Your ultrasound shows that the baby has a cyst on its brain', couldn't explain what that meant, and then took my blood pressure and told me it was high. Duh!! I'm guessing there are very few *good* interns out there...
