Day before yesterday, I gave Kaylee her first taste of solids! She was so excited - she's been intently watching me whenever I'm eating for the past month and a half! We got a highchair and some cereal, and she looked pretty interested in everything from her new vantage point in the room. She was really good about opening her mouth for the spoon, and wasn't sure what to do with the cereal when it was in her mouth but that's to be expected. I thought she did really good. She's been getting cereal twice a day now with her bottle and she's definitely getting better about moving the food to the back of her mouth and swallowing, but she's also beginning to not open her mouth for the food. Maybe she doesn't want it? Grammy thinks now that she's tasted food, she thinks its bland and uninteresting, nothing like the stuff she sees us eating! I'm really looking forward to trying new things with her, but I'm waiting about a week between introducing foods to make sure she's not allergic. And I'll probably stick to cereals only for about a month. I also have some rice cereal that she hasn't tried yet, but that's for next week! Here's a video of her first solid feeding!
The next thing I hope to get a video of is Grammy playing SuperCow with her. It's amazing how fast she can change moods when SuperCow is involved... mad, then giggling because she sees SuperCow, then mad because SuperCow went away, then giggling and smiley again! Oh Kaylee.... :)
