iPhone apps

I've found a couple articles recently that gave suggestions for handy apps for parents. I really enjoy my iPhone, so I decided to check a few of them out.

Marble Jar - It's supposed to work like a reward system for helping kids with healthy habits. You have jars on shelves, and you can define what actions can let you add a marble to the jar when you do it. For example, I could have a manners jar and Kaylee could press a button to have a marble drop in when she remembers to say please/thank you, or when she refrains from having a tantrum. (Not that she's at that point yet!! - the please and thank-you part... she's definitely having tantrums!). There is a very satisfying 'marble dropping' sound :-P  Currently, I'm using it more for myself and my different goals!

Baby Piano - Has a 7-key, rainbow piano with little animals above the keys. There are a couple different modes, so she can play her own 'music' or the keys can blink and play the notes for a song when she taps them. Good distraction :)

Peek-a-Boo - Has a happy face and when she taps it or shakes the phone, an animal shows up with picture, label, and animal sound. Kaylee's kind of over this one now, but it was great distraction a month or two ago when it was new!

And some apps that have been useful in a Kaylee-related sense, but not so much specifically for Kaylee, or not mentioned in the 'best apps for parents' articles:

iJewels - It's like Bejeweled, and Kaylee is actually getting pretty good at finding matches! She amazes me sometimes with her hand-eye coordination! Not mentioned in parenting apps articles, but she likes it!

Randomizer - You can have different wheels for all your different needs, and input all the options the wheel will land on... So for example, I have one wheel that is for choosing Kaylee's breakfast, and some of the options are [Oatmeal and fruit] [Cheerios and apple] [Scrammy eggs and ham], etc. I use my finger (or Kaylee does!) to spin the wheel and we get a random output. I think this will be very good for later too, when Kaylee and I need a non-bias final answer on simple things.

Photo365 - Meant for a photo-a-day projects, and I'm using it to make sure I take a picture (or several!) of Kaylee every day. I will appreciate it a year from now when I can look back and see what she was doing on a day-to-day basis.
