Remember, just like a butterfly, she too will spread her wings and fly some day.
Enjoy her caterpillar years.

Trip to the Market Garden (and other mid-August things)

Kaylee at a family gathering at my cousin's house

Kaylee is SO on the move now! She definitely keeps me on my toes! Right now is one of the rare naptimes…. Naptimes are now rare, where rare is equal to once per day. Last week it was 3 times/day! Since I don’t expect it to last much longer, this is a quick update that I meant to do a couple weeks ago.

Kaylee helping me make a fall wreath!

She’s got clapping down now. If you clap your hands first, she’ll do it too. Also if anyone gets excited about something she does and says “Good girl!” she claps as well. It’s pretty cute!

A couple weeks ago she was doing a lot better with saying Gramma and Grampa and “loveyou”, but lately she hasn’t been saying it as much…. Maybe once a week. Most common words are definitely  “mum” and “up!”.
                                                                  Grammy's birthday!

Kaylee on her swing set :D

Grammy's computer is never-ending fun, until she wrecks the computer!
                                                            (It kind-of happened...)

Towards the end of August, I was packing up my place in Regina (I’m living at my parents now) and Kaylee had to come with me. Of course, it’s hard to pack when running after a little girl. So I brought her little popup tent and her blankie and susie and thankfully she was okay to nap/hangout in there for most of 5 days! Grammy and Rayden were helping me pack and Grampa was farming, or else I wouldn’t have made her come with me at all….

Another funny thing she started doing a while ago is “putting on the speed” more often! When she’s crawling towards something she knows you’re gonna stop her from, she looks at me until she’s gotten my attention, and turns and crawls as fast as she can for whatever it is I need to stop her from… usually stairs, the wood stove (moreso the sharp bricks around it), or the doorway into another room that we don’t need to be in at that moment. Thankfully, there are loads of baby gates ordered so I don’t have to worry about all the glass doors on Grammy’s china cabinets or the bricks around the stove anymore (well, when they come in next week) because they will be blocked off, as well as the stairs.

These pics are from mid-August, when Grammy and Kaylee and I went to the Lumsden market gardens… there are actually three and I think we go to the Lincoln gardens one.

After going to the market garden, we went to my aunt’s place so I could take pics of her miniature horses. She has a lot of nice flowers too, and I wanted some nice pics of Kaylee with those!

ALSO, here are a bunch of links I meant to share a while ago:
  •   Awesome resource for encouraging physical activity, early literacy, and healthy eating in kids aged 0-3years from LEAP BC
  • I will be making some of these for Kaylee (if she ever gets enough hair! :p), Kaylee’s friends, and for photo props! If I ever get time….    Hairstuff 1 and Hairstuff 2
  • Would love to have this as Kaylee’s birthday cake, but it’s probably a little much… it would be a good experience to try making though!
  • Some developmental games for babies 10-12 months
  • Kaylee’s awesome “jeggings” – They look exactly like little baby jeans! She looks so grown up when she’s wearing them… The link was broken, I can't find them on the Children's Place website anymore, but that's where I got them!
Perfect timing.... I'm hearing coos from the crib. There is more, but for another day.
