Remember, just like a butterfly, she too will spread her wings and fly some day.
Enjoy her caterpillar years.

Kaylee the pool-enjoying demolition artist

Little Swimmer - She’s getting a lot more comfortable being in the pool every time I take her in! I used to make her wear a PuddleJumper and then be holding on to her, but I skipped the PuddleJumper a couple times ago and she’s so much happier actually being able to move her arms! She was technically too little to be in one anyway – it’s meant for kids 30-50 lbs and Kaylee is probably between 20-22 lbs now. Anyway, when I say “Kick kick!” she kicks her legs a bit, and sometimes when I say “Splash splash!” she will bat her hands at the water surface. She gets mad when she splashes her own face though!

Postcrossing – I’ve signed up for Postcrossing and people all over the world are sending me and Kaylee postcards! Actually, I’ve been doing this since a month before she was born, but just never put it on the blog. It’s a lot of fun – I get a great feeling from getting something not-bills-or-flyers in the mail, and I love to drop stuff in the mailbox too! I’ve been putting all the postcards we’ve gotten into a photo album and when she’s at the stage where we’re practising reading, we can read all those postcards and learn about the world and other peoples’ lives in other countries!

A photo I forgot about, from when
I was taking some photos for relatives.
Kaylee was on her best behaviour... as always :)

Can’t Figure It Out – Kaylee been “saying” something lately that I just can’t figure out… I’m sure this will be happening a lot from now on! It sounds like “-at…-at….-at…..[softly]arrrughh”  The last part I’ve just noticed today. The past two days I only noticed the “-at” part. It doesn’t sound like just “at”, it sounds like there’s something she’s trying to say before that part. Grammy and I are wondering if it’s maybe something to do with “Cat in the Hat”, and today I wondered if it’s just “that”. I’m always saying to  her, “Do you want that?”, “Can I have that?”, “Please don’t touch that”. But she’s also watched a lot of Cat in the Hat the last few days. Or it could be something totally else!!

Demolition Artist - Today I gave Kaylee back some MegaBlocks that I had put away a month or so ago. She doesn’t build with them, and a month ago all she did was teethe on them. Now if I build something, she just HAS to take it apart! Block by block my creations are demolished! Not that my creations were that great, as there were only 18 or so blocks in the set I got her. It’s funny though – if she’s doing something else and she notices that some of her blocks are together, she’ll stop what she’s doing to go take them apart! It’s very important that those blocks are not left together!

Anyway, Kaylee's been waking up in the early morning more than she used to (not sure what's different!)... and I've been staying up later than I'm used to... so I'm going to bed earlier tonight! Goodnight!
