Good times with Jade

Auntie Jade came to visit us! She got here on Wednesday, and had to go home this morning. Kaylee had a great time playing airplane with Jade, attempting to walk, chatting with the 'other' baby in the mirror, and showing Jade all her new tricks!

Kaylee is getting much better at sitting up on her own now! I don't think she can pull herself up into a sitting position from lying down, but if I sit her up, she can mostly balance herself! Usually she has something or someone to lean against though. I let her sit on the couch beside me when I'm eating - she just stares at my food :)

Grammy got her a second exersaucer, so now there's one at Grammy and Grandpa's, and one at my place. She really enjoys spending time in those things! She's getting very strong legs!

And she's also taken an interest in books and paper. If we're sitting in front of some paper (like when she's sitting with me at the computer), she's always trying to grab it. I generally don't let her have it because she crumples it and puts it to her face in an attempt to eat it. I'm afraid she'll get paper cuts. She also likes books and pages and trying to turn them! Here she's playing with a Winnie the Pooh book that reads itself when the pages are turned.

Last update for now: I think she's saying her first word! I'm only 90% sure, but 'Mum' or some variation of it is what I'm hearing fairly often now! Sometimes it's 'mmmmmmmUUUUuuuummmmmmm' and sometimes it's 'mum-mum-mum-mum-mum'.
